Abstract

The study analyzed the articles about organizational culture from the perspective of the classification of Smircich (1983) and Freitas (1991b). The articles were searched in the annals of EnANPAD and EnGPR and in the period 2005-2008 of which 51 articles were analyzed. This research is characterized as descriptive, qualitative, documentary and longitudinal slitting. The selection criterion was based on the search for the words "organizational culture", "business culture", "culture in organizations" or "culture of organizations" appearing in the title, abstract or keywords. The results based on the classification of Smircich (1983) and Freitas (1991b) show that the corporate culture area had 52.4% of the articles. These findings are consistent with Freitas (1991b), which is this current that concentrates the bulk of research. The comparison with data from Borges et al (2008), it was found a difference related to homogeneity shown in the areas: Comparative Management, Corporate Culture and Organizational Symbolism. However, there was a line for data from other areas.
