Abstract

This paper describes a case study using Power System Stabilizers to enhance the damping of the WSCC System. The study is based on a particular model of the system. Local and inter-area modes are first identified for two load flow cases and then stabilization and damping Improvement of these modes are obtained. Approaches for further damping improvement of a 0.7 Hz Inter-area mode are recommended. © 1995 IEEE
