Abstract

We all face barriers in our lives, but problems accessing basic activities can develop into huge barriers for those living with particular needs and requirements. This became a reality for me when I recently planned a well-earned short break away at a luxury hotel with my husband, who has a mobility difficulty. Having made them aware that we would require a room with an accessible shower, preferably close to all the hotel facilities, they assured me that they would book us into one of their disabled suites.
