Disaster recovery (DR) is a set of policies, procedures, processes, and systems put into place to facilitate the restoration and recovery of vital data and infrastructure following a natural or man-made catastrophic event. Mission critical systems are necessary for any business to operate and are especially true in the healthcare industry and medical imaging. Service Level Agreements can help with supporting these mission critical systems. Resource allocation for DR procedures and management should be evaluated regularly. Creating tactical DR system workarounds for clinicians and system end users is essential in the continuity of patient care.
