M. Hiscock and D. B. Cohen (see record 1974-06228-001) used self-report measures of visual imagery vividness and control and a paired associates learning task. The present study with 84 Ss (ages 17–60 yrs) used the 16-item Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire, which has been found to accurately predict visual discrimination behavior. Results support the findings of Hiscock and Cohen that there is a significant association between dream recall frequency and vividness of voluntarily produced visual imagery. The possible interpretations of this association are considered, and a research design is suggested that would help to clarify the issues. (25 ref)
