Abstract

Fine, sticky, agglomerating ammonium sulphate used in industry in chosen as the experimental material to study the drying performances and heat transfer in a vibrated fluidized bed. The effect of operation parameters on drying rate of the ammonium sulphate is analysed and a empirical equation is deduced. On the basis of drying experiments, the heat transfer coefficients is measured for the fine, agglomerating ammonium sulphate in VFB and the heat transfer correlation is obtained. Comparison of values given by the correlation and measured from the experiments shows good agreements
