The rapid development of emerging technologies in the past few years has changed the way people learn. It is important for us to re-scrutinize the influence of computer-based video games in today's education, especially on young children. An extensive review of literature in the effect of computer-based video games on learning is presented. Four major domains around the theme are investigated. They are physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains. Current research findings are reported. Future research trends are predicted.
