Abstract

The book contains six sections on aspects of entropy in water resources. These are: 1) perspectives on entropy and energy dissipation, 2) application of entropy in hydrology, 3) application of entropy in water resources, 4) application of entropy in hydraulics, 5) application of energy principles in hydrology, 6) application of energy principles in hydraulics. Particular chapters study entropy in channel networks, hydrological forecasting, water quality monitoring, local bridge scour, energy losses and regime relations. Some individual chapters are abstracted separately. (C.J.U.)
