Abstract

The island of Cebu in the Philippines is often considered to be a premier example of land degradation in the third world. It is argued that current conditions are not as serious as commonly thought. There is considerable evidence that environmental conditions are beginning to improve. This study examines the quality of data on landuse changes. -Authors
