Abstract

An experimental study is carried out to investigate the light-heat conversion characteristics of nanofluids in vacuum tube solar collector. Two nanofluids, namely TiO2/H2O and CNT/H2O, are used to study the effect of the light-heat conversion characteristics of nanofluids. Experiments are performed under two different weather conditions. The experimental results show a very good lightheat conversion characteristic of the CNT/H2O nanofluid with the weight concentration of 0.5%. The results are helpful for the design of vacuum tube solar collector. Copyright © 2011 American Scientific Publishers.
