Abstract
Wikipedia is a huge knowledge base growing every day due to the contribution of people all around the world. Some part of the information of each article is kept in a special, consistently and formatted table called infobox. In this article, we analyze the Wikipedia infoboxes of movies articles; we describe some of the problems that can make extracting information from these tables a difficult task. We also present a methodology to automatically extract information that could be useful towards the building of an ontology of movies from Wikipedia in Spanish.
