Abstract

This study investigates nostalgia-proneness, the tendency for individuals to experience nostalgic sentiment, in Russia. The Index of Nostalgia Proneness, based upon a four-way classification of nostalgia experiences, was originally developed using U.S. respon- dents. A Russian version of the scale is tested for reliability and validity. Factor analysis supports the four hypothesized dimensions and identifies key scale items. The four factors are reconciled with open-ended nostalgia experiences authored by Russian respondents.
