Abstract
The article discusses the application of a modified DuPont approach to ratio analysis on determining the real cause of financial performance problems at a video cassette and CD manufacturer. During a final meeting with the management, the factors affecting the decrease in the gross margin were identified and explored. The members of the board were able to alter their product management strategy using the DuPont scheme.
