Abstract

This article intends to characterize the traffic flows of SIP/RTP and IAX protocols in the environment of IP Telephony as standard of communication in their local networks. Our study allowed us to conclude that the packages of voice have a significant impact on the amount of data injected in LANs, which makes of fundamental importance the development of tools to evaluate them. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2008.
