Abstract

Urban street-canyon flows in the presence of street-bottom heatingare investigated using a two-dimensionalnumerical model with k-e turbulence scheme. The street aspect ratio(Hc/Wc, where Hc and Wc are the buildingheight and the width between two buildings, respectively) varies from0.6 to 3.6 (in 0.2 interval) and the initialpotential temperature difference between the street-canyon bottomand the air (??) ranges from 0 to 16 K (in 2Kinterval). Five flow regimes are identified. The numerical model resultis shown to be reasonably in goodagreement with the wind-tunnel data.
