Abstract

This book offers information about the taxonomy, biodiversity and ecology of microfungi, including ascomycetes and their anamorphs, that were found associated with twenty palm species in tropical locations of Australia, Borneo, Ecuador and Hong Kong during the first author's Ph.D research. There are four main chapters: Mycota; Background, Material and Methods; Taxonomy; and Ecology. A glossary, fungus index, and host index are also included at the end of the book. This book should be useful to mycologists who want to identify microfungi associated with monocotyledonous hosts in the tropics and subtropics and to those who are interested in the taxonomy and distribution of ascomycetes and their host plants.
