Abstract

A review of the literature is presented that deals with the assessment process presented as an algorithm for testing the value of including the mode in normative transport planning. The mutually supportive value of the mode and the transport planning framework is shown. It is suggested that discrete accessibility measures may be the best means of formulating objectives for the normative framework, within which each mode would perform those operations to which it is best suited.
