Global environmental, social and economic issues in the fast fashion industry

Abstract

In the era of globalization, fashion is a global industry. This is not a new concept fashion plays very important role in people’s life. Individuals can express themselves with fashion and clothes. In a history of humankind, Fast fashion, is a new phenomenon only existed few decades, and it has changed the entire way of life style. Fashion industries like fashion is centuries old industry. In the past clothes never been designed and produced like this massively and short period as today by the designers and fashion industries. The present research mainly focusing on sustainability in fashion industry. There are various sources, which suggest that current situation of sustainability in fast fashion industry is very poor. An enormous challenge in front of fashion industries nowadays is to deliver a blend of both sustainability and elegance in fashion. In order to look at the future of sustainability, the present research focuses on what is fashion and how it started, the current environmental, social and economic issues in the fast fashion industry, analysis of the code of conduct and treaties in motion to prevent it. In addition to that how fast fashion is affecting developing countries.
