Abstract
Although OverDrive www.overdrive.com publicity says patrons will "download" if a library "buys" a book, in fact, the download is a temporary file, disappearing from the patron's collection when the due date is over. In the electronic world, only the copyright owner can definitively "sell" a book. Others have rights negotiated with publishers which may not include "permanent" sales.
