Abstract

Parasomnias relate to a group of disorders characterized by repetitive episodes of abnormal behavior during arousals from sleep or during the transition between sleep and wakefulness. These events are often very disturbing and bizarre, with potentially serious consequences on physical and mental health, daytime functioning, and social life. The present article focuses on the impact of parasomnias on the quality of life of the patients and their bedpartners.
