Abstract

Thirty-two handicapped children with hearing impairment were fitted with hearing aids. Hearing aids were effective in 28 of these caces, but were effective for all children less than 1 year old. Hearing aids could not be fitted in 4 caces. The results of this study showed the importance of early diagnosis of hearing impairment and early fitting of hearing aids in handicapped children. © 1995, The Society of Practical Otolaryngology.
