Abstract

Discusses the Heritage Green Paper, which emphasizes the importance of public consultation in the listing process and ways of streamlining the listing process. A more flexible approach is urged to optimize reuse of listed buildings. Transfer of control of ancient monuments and archaeology from central government to local authorities is also suggested. The Green Paper is described as a blueprint for future change.
