Abstract

2015 Guinea Bissau Prevention and Control of the Outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in Guinea-Bissau; 2010 Haiti INEM professionals integrate the Portuguese Government's Joint Operational Force (FOCON) for a Humanitarian Emergency Mission in Haiti, providing medical assistance to victims of an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale. 2006 Timor Leste INEM is part of the National Republican Guard contingent sent to Timor-Leste, involved in the United Nations Mission - UNMIT ( United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor - Leste). 2004 Morocco In February 2004, a seismic shock, which reached a magnitude of 6.5 on the Richter scale, surprised the northern region of Morocco. INEM was part of the Portuguese aid to the victims of this earthquake, together with other national entities. 2003 Iran Following the earthquake that hit the city of Bam in Iran, INEM sent a team that saw a total of 273 casualties. 2000 Mozambique INEM collaborated in helping the populations affected by the floods in Mozambique. 1999 Venezuela INEM collaborated in helping the populations affected by the floods in Venezuela. East Timor In September 1999, the first INEM members arrived in Dili, under the humanitarian cooperation mission for development, with the aim of providing relief to the population. Turkey The Izmit earthquake of 1999 was a magnitude 7.6 earthquake that struck northwest Turkey on August 17 at 03:02 local time, killing about 17,000 people and leaving about half a million people homeless.
