Abstract
Sweat rates in larqe football linemen can reach 3.9 L/hr, and sweat losses can exceed 14 L/day. Football players can be chronically dehydrated during preseason when practices occur two times per day on consecutive days. Sodium replacement is necessary during preseason in football players who sweat heavily.
