Abstract

Hydrothermal preparation is one of the methods to make fine ceramic powders. Fine powders of ZrO//2, Al//2O//3, HfO//2, and Al//2O//3-ZrO//2 are described. Sintered bodies are also able to get under hydrothermal conditions with reactions. Hydrothermal reaction sintered bodies of iron oxides, Cr//2O//3, ZrO//2 and HfO//2 were obtained under 100 MPa above 1000 degree C with 1-5 mu m grains.
