Traces the development of Italy's Istituto per la Cultura Materiale e l'Archeologia Industriale (Institute for Material Culture and Industrial Archaeology) (ICMAI), and its journal Il Coltello di Delfo. The aim of this organization is to generate interest in this new branch of industrial culture; the approach adopted targets managers, public and private companies, and industries rather than scholars or the general public. Only in this way, the author argues, can the value of the fragile industrial heritage be enhanced.
