Abstract

The papers that comprise this volume identify the important current trends in archaeological research on the distribution of artefacts and other refuse at prehistoric sites. They represent revised papers of those given at the 52nd annual meeting of the Society of American Archaeology in Toronto in 1987, that set out to demonstrate the convergence of archaeological and actualistic studies for the understanding of intrasite spatial patterns. The papers are arranged under the general headings of the spatial analysis of ethnoarchaeological and archaeological sites. A postscript considers the end of spatial analysis. The individual contributions are abstracted separately. -J.Sheail
