La «historia militar» como género histórico

Abstract

La «Historia Militar» es un género poco cultivado por los historiadores académicos, especialmente por los españoles, que la han relegado por atribuirle unas connota-ciones políticas concretas. Con entidad propia, no es sólo una parte de la «Historia narrativa», y supera la «Historia de las batallas», muy prestigiada en el ámbito anglosajón y centroeuropeo, y la «Polemología». En este artículo se explica esa enti-dad y se recogen los diferentes modos o vías para hacer «historia militar» con el rigor de un género histórico científico de primera importancia en el mundo actual. The «Military History» is a genre scantily cultivated genre by the academics historians , specially by spaniards, who have relegated in because its supposed political connotations. With own characteristics, it is not only a part of the «Narrative His-tory», and goes beyond the «History of the battles», wich has a high prestigious in the Anglo-Saxon field and Central European, and also the «Polemology». This article explains that entity and the different ways to deal with «Military History» with the rigor of a scientific and historical genre of first importance in the present world.
