Abstract

Deals with the light-pollution problem from both angles - getting rid of the offending lights, and using the right astronomical instruments and techniques to reduce its effects Examples of good and bad lighting and strategies for approaching relevant authorities in Europe (especially the UK) and in the USA Detailed lists of objects that practical astronomers maybe surprised to be able to see from variously light-polluted sites
