Abstract
If confirmed, of Archaeology, Deccan College, Pune 411006, lithic artefacts from stratified (CA 26:393) is an important Rendell and Dennell's report of Lower Palaeo- contexts in northern lian material was found in datable contexts lier reports of Lower Palaeolithic artefacts discovery, Pakistan especially as no Acheu- by Stiles and ear- from the Potwar area have been questioned (Stiles 1978). Acheulian material has, however, been reported India (Joshi 1967-68, Mohapatra 1981), although the Lower Palaeolithic artefacts reported from a stratified Sharma (1977) and Verma (1975) were later found to have been a hoax (Mohapatra and Singh 1979, Joshi et al. 1978)
