Machine guards can improve performance and safety

Abstract

The improvement of performance and safety of a machine by the use of machine guards is discussed. Guards, which permits process visibility enable production to continue uninterrupted without halting the process, and production loss is avoided. Machines should be CE marked and must comply with the essential health and safety requirements of machinery safety regulation. Guards supplied for new machine must be provided with a declaration of conformity as evidence that they comply with the applicable harmonized standard.
