The article deals with the reasons that either stimulate orrestrain labour mobility (economic migrations). It states that despite the abundance of migrantsnowadays, both in the literature – which tells about an “age of migration” - andpublic opinion, the truth is that migrants remain a very small fraction of overallpopulations. The most mobile portion of the labourforce seems, theoretically, to be the highly skilled organisational one. However, even at the level of these highly skilled professionals, international space remains too hazardous for migrations.
