Modeling water availability for forage growth in a small Appalachian watershed
Agricultural Engineers Chicago IL 1213 December (1988)
Abstract
The Thornthwaite (1948) water balance model, with some modifications, was adapted for prediction of monthly soil moisture levels within the hilly terrain of central Appalachia, West Virginia. The model gave satisfactory estimates especially during an unusually hot, dry growing season.
