Abstract

The latest developments in circular knitting machinery are reviewed. Single-jersey knits are currently popular, and this has led to advances in patterning potential via electronic needle-by-needle selection, four-colour electronic striping, and knit-miss-tuck camming facilities. Jumbo machines and compound needles are featured in this article and the machines now available from Asian suppliers which are making inroads in the world market are described.
