Abstract

In this article the author comments on the study on the black box of treatment to examine linkages between processes of delivery and client outcomes in motivational interviewing (MI). He notes the importance of the study's model to include factors from the social context which may explain conditions that enhance or diminish MI interventions. He mentions that MI response requires recognition of MI session as a small part of the client's life during an entire week.
