Abstract

The article presents the author's views on the risks concerning social networking sites. The author believes that the popularity of social networking sites (SNS) heralds the growth of complicit risk communities where personal information becomes social capital which is traded and exchanged, and where there are also therapeutic and narcissistic elements. He also added that the culture of SNS expands on the performative and reciprocity and exchange.
