Abstract

I found in two ponds of Yamato-Koriyama large from of Daphnia which was identified by Prof. Uéno as Daphnia similis Claus. This species has never been reported from Japan. As this species distributes in China, and the gold-fish farmer of this city imported in these years Chinese varieties of gold fish from China, it seems that the present Daphnia species is transported with the gold-fish from there. © 1966, The Japanese Society of Limnology.
