Abstract

This study measures and compares levels of organizational commitment of American expatriates and host country nationals employed by U.S. Firms in Egypt. It also examines the nature of relationships among several variables and organizational commitment. The findings suggest that country of origin is a strong predictor of organizational commitment, with American expatriates having lower commitment levels than their Egyptian counterparts. Some explanations as well as limited generalizations and implications are developed. © 1994 by The Haworth Press, Inc. All rights reserved.
