Abstract

It is the pain that is most frightful among the numerous symptoms associated with cancer. Leading oncology organizations have stated that the relief of pain and other symptoms should be a priority in the care of these patients. The benefits of adequate pain control include facilitation of the diagnostic workup and treatment, improved functional status and better quality of life. Nowadays, pain in children with cancer is a growing problem. The number of children with cancer is constantly increasing. Every year one of 600 children is recorded with cancer. The article examines the reasons that put stress on the problem associated with ontological pain and treatment methods. Article deals with both character of oncological pain and ways of assessment the pain regarding the age groups and contemporary knowledge for treatment.
