Performance improvements

Abstract

Fundamental studies of screws and of parallel and conical twin screw extruders indicate a considerable developmental potential in the extrusion of PVC. New processing concepts can be applied which will result in an increased throughput in the extrusion of several different formulations without the need of a screw change. It is predicted that by the year 2000 the throughput levels per extruder size will be double of those typical only in 1994.
