Phytophthora oryzo-bladis, a new name for P. fragariae var. oryzo-bladis

Abstract

Based on a study of the isolate and the type specimen of Phytophthora fragariae var. oryzo-bladis Wang & Lu causing leaf blight office seedlings in China it is concluded that the fungal pathogen is distinct enough from P. fragariae to warrant a new species epithet and should be re-named P. oryzo-bladis.
