I. PLANT ORGANIZATION The first step is the planning of the organization of the plant. I will, in this discussion, make certain assumptions about the company. In any large company many of the necessary activities required for an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) business operation, other than the pure production operations themselves, would usually be the responsibility of separate organizations within the company.
