A preliminary discussion on the ecological environment of conchostracans in Huangjiadeng Formation in Yangtze Gorges

Abstract

:\There exists divergence on the understanding limit of geist. According to the analysis of the depositional environment of Huangjiadeng Formation in Late Devonian , the composite characteristics of authigenic minerals and elemental geochemical data in the country rock of Conchostracans , the authors conclude that the Late Devonian Conchostracans lived in brackish environment where the water is shallow and of high transparency , ample sunlight and oxygen , weak hydrodynamic and abundant organic materials which is originated mostly from the plants.
