Preserving film history.

Abstract

The article discusses the selection of Atempo Digital Archive by the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) for the collection, preservation and distribution of its digital assets while maintaining its audiovisual bequest in Europe. It is said that Atempo was chosen by the film's board after it matched its need for scalability and research functionality. Julie Dutrisac, head of research and development at NFB believes on the relevance of XML plug-in to the realization of their digitisation.
