Abstract

Severe environmental condition and pollution degree influence on insulators and worsen the situation for T&D network. Iran's T&D networks encounter with many of these problems in Southern provinces, specially the close ones to Persian Gulf & Oman Sea. Operational history in these regions indicates a lot of insulating problems in spite of frequent maintenance procedures (i.e. washing). In the present research, forty five test stations were installed in Khuzestan & Bushehr states, as well as providing the pollution map with analyzing the adaptability of test result with environmental parameters variation it was found out that there would be a correlation between the rate of pollution deposit and environmental parameters variation. Measuring of ESDD and NSDD on five types of insulators and comparing of the result with DDG methods shows we can define a Correction factor based on profile of insulator for measuring of site severity on DDG method. © 2005 IEEE.
