As we said in the introduction to this book, the collection of case studies in public management that is presented here shows how the variety and discretion of managerial endeavors in public management calls for accountability and responsibility of government beyond current legal instruments. Therefore CSR must be brought to bear with government as well. In government in fact, like in business, management is not a linear process, but it is a process that implies choice and responsibility. We would add here that the “organizational bottom line” is the public sector deployment of integrated reporting.
