Every publication in any field is designed for the people who are intended to read it. Archaeological fieldwork is carried out for different sectors and sponsors and it therefore generates a variety of output. A recent overview proposed eight different modes of publication designed to serve eight different types of “consumer” (Fig. 12.1).
