Abstract

Quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) molecular dynamics simulations indicate that the reaction of native HEWL with its natural substrate involves a covalent intermediate, in contrast to the 'textbook' mechanism for this seminal enzyme. © The Royal Society of Chemistry.
