Fault-tolerance is an important design issue to build a reliable mobile computing system and hence many fault tolerance schemes have been proposed for the mobile computing environment. However, most of these schemes are designed for the mobile environment with a fixed network infrastructure. In this paper, the problems incurred when the existing schemes are applied to the ad-hoc network environment are discussed and some possible solutions for these problems are addressed.
