The reference librarian of the future: Rejoinders

Abstract

In the Winter 1985 issue of RQ Thomas T. Surprenant and Claudia Perry-Holmes presented their view of the "Reference Librarian of the Future" (p.234–38). RQ's readers were invited to offer rejoinders for review by the editorial team. From the dozens of responses received, the following eight were selected for publication. To these authors, and to the other provocative respondents, goes this special note of gratitude for their thoughtful views on a topic of central interest to reference and adult services librarians.
